First Watch

During a recent visit to First Watch in Glen Burnie, Maryland, we kicked off our meal with the Million Dollar Bacon, a standout appetizer that left a lasting impression. The combination of hardwood smoked bacon, brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne, and a maple syrup drizzle created a flavor reminiscent of Dunkin' Donuts' Snackin' Bacon, but with a superior cooking technique that avoided the dreaded flabbiness often found in microwave-prepared bacon. At $5.99, it's tempting, but I'm inclined to recreate this tasty treat at home.

The biscuits and gravy were a safe bet, satisfying but lacking any standout qualities. Nevertheless, we polished off the plate, indicating its decent appeal. My choice for the entree was the Tri-Fecta, offering a delightful mix of two fresh cage-free eggs any style, a light and airy Belgian waffle or a multigrain pancake, and a choice of bacon, chicken sausage patty, turkey, or pork sausage link. This dish was another solid option, with the waffle stealing the show with its warm, syrupy goodness.

On the beverage front, the Morning Meditation juice, featuring a blend of orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar, and beet, proved to be a refreshing and enjoyable choice. The service was efficient, and the ambiance was pleasant, making it a viable choice for a casual dining experience.
