Changing Times Ale House

This past weekend, we celebrated my father's birthday at Changing Times Ale House in East Northport, NY. Arriving early, we started with an appetizer: the nachos. They were generously loaded with various toppings, making for a delicious start. However, the chips themselves were slightly burnt, though the abundance of toppings masked this flaw well.

A minor inconvenience arose when our entrees were brought out immediately after the appetizer. The staff took the entrees back and returned with them a few minutes later.

For my main course, I ordered the bacon bourbon smash burger. The burger, topped with cheddar, frizzled onion, and spicy bourbon sauce, was solid but the bun could have been better, and the plate felt cramped for the portion size.

I also sampled the Steak Tidbits, a favorite of my parents. This dish features teriyaki-marinated filet mignon tips topped with mozzarella and beer-battered onion rings, served open-faced on garlic bread. While it's not to my personal taste, I can appreciate the value of the quality of steak.

Changing Times Ale House offers a mixed dining experience with some standout dishes and room for improvement in service and presentation.
