J&R's Steakhouse
I recently dined at J&R’s Steakhouse in Rocky Point with a large group, taking advantage of their Beat The Clock Specials. The experience was a mix of hits and misses, but overall, it left a positive impression.
To start, I had the lobster bisque soup, which was delightfully creamy without being overly fishy. It struck a perfect balance and set a high standard for the meal to follow.
Moving on to the main course, I opted for the 5oz filet mignon and coconut shrimp. The steak, ordered medium, leaned towards medium-well but still offered good flavor thanks to its marinade. The coconut shrimp stole the show with its crunchy exterior and sweet taste. A slight disappointment came with the sweet potato side, as only half a potato was served, which felt a bit stingy, possibly due to the special menu pricing.
For dessert, I splurged on the tiramisu, which carried a small additional cost but was worth every penny. The rich, satisfying slice of cake fulfilled my craving completely. The cheesecake, recommended by others, also seemed like a tempting option.
While my experience was generally positive, some in my group faced issues like tough steaks or incorrect orders. These minor hiccups aside, J&R’s Steakhouse remains a staple for my family, offering a mix of flavorful dishes and occasional specials that make it a go-to dining spot.
